Mobile vs workshop alloy wheel repair
Choose mobile repair for minor scuffs, kerb damage and paint chips, and the workshop for anything structural, corroded or diamond cut. Mobile is faster and comes to you, but the workshop finish lasts longer.
What mobile repair covers
Our mobile team repairs minor cosmetic damage for private and trade customers, where you are. That means scuffs, kerb damage and paint chips. Jobs are done the same day and take about 2 to 4 hours. Mobile repairs use paint, with no diamond cut, welding or straightening on site. The workshop at Crown Road handles everything else. Wheels are taken off, stripped to bare metal, repaired and refinished. The workshop has the CNC diamond cut lathe, welding and straightening equipment, and a powder coating oven that cures at 180°C. See alloy wheel refurbishment for what a full job involves.
Frequently asked questions
Is mobile repair cheaper?
The price depends on the damage and the wheels. We quote either way from a photo, so you can compare before you decide.
Can you do diamond cut on site?
No. Diamond cut needs the workshop lathe and takes 2 working days.
Will a mobile repair last?
For scuffs and kerb damage it lasts well with normal care, but a paint finish will not outlast an oven-cured workshop refurbishment. If the wheel is corroded or cracked, mobile is the wrong choice.
