What a repair changes

What a repair changes

Your original wheels are kept and refinished so all four look alike. Each one is stripped to bare metal first, giving the new coat a clean surface to bond to and shutting out the water and salt that feed corrosion. Light scuffs can sometimes be handled by our mobile service, although a mobile job may not match the durability of an oven-finished workshop repair. Send your postcode and we'll confirm.

Diamond cut repair

The bright face is re-cut on our CNC lathe and lacquered, ready in 2 working days. See diamond cut repair.

Straightening and welding

Bent rims are pulled true and cracks welded where the wheel is safe to repair. See straightening and welding.

Colour change

A new shade can go on while the wheel is stripped, taken from a paint code or photo. See colour change.

Before you decide

Is a mobile repair as durable as a workshop refurbishment?
Mobile work suits minor scuffs and kerb marks, and its finish may not last as long as one cured in our workshop oven. Anything involving corrosion, a crack or a diamond cut face has to come into Crown Road.
Can you change the colour while the wheel is being repaired?
Yes, in any colour from a paint code or a photo. The wheel can be powder coated and cured at 180°C or painted, and the new colour is priced from the same photos you send for the repair.
Can a refurbishment deal with corrosion as well as scuffs?
It can. Taking the wheel down to bare metal removes the corroded finish before anything new goes on, which is why corrosion is always handled at the workshop.
