Three ways to pay for your repair

How the bill gets paid depends on who caused the accident and whether you want to claim. The repair itself is the same on every route.

Your own insurance

Tell your insurer you'd like Whoops Wheel Fix It to repair your car and we'll deal with them from there. Most policies let you choose your repairer, so check yours. Your policy excess and any courtesy car are set by your insurer.

A non-fault claim

If another driver was to blame, our accident management partners claim from their insurer for you. There's no excess to pay and your no-claims bonus is protected. We don't supply courtesy cars ourselves; if your insurance includes one, it can be arranged through a hire company. See non-fault accident management, or PCO and taxi claims if you drive for a living.

Paying privately

For lighter damage you may prefer to leave insurance out of it. You get a fixed price from your photos and pay on completion by cash, card or bank transfer.

What to do after an accident

A few minutes at the scene makes the claim and the repair quote far easier later on. Not sure who was at fault? Our guide to non-fault accident claims covers what counts and what the claim involves.
  • Safety first. Get everyone out of the road, put your hazards on and call 999 if anyone is injured.
  • Take photos. Both cars, every damaged area including the wheels, number plates and the road layout.
  • Swap details. Names, phone numbers, registrations and insurers, plus contact details for any witnesses.
  • Call your insurer. Report it as your policy requires, and say you'd like Whoops Wheel Fix It to do the repair.
  • Send us your photos. WhatsApp them to +44 7512 308716 with a line on what happened.

Accident repair questions

Can I choose my own repairer?
Most policies let you, so check yours. Tell your insurer you want Whoops Wheel Fix It to do the repair and we'll take it from there. On a non-fault claim, our partners arrange for us to do the repair.
Will I get a courtesy car?
Not from us directly. If your insurance includes a courtesy car, it can be arranged through a hire company, so check your cover with your insurer. PCO and taxi drivers get a licensed hire vehicle through EDGE.
Do I have to pay an excess?
Not on a non-fault claim run by our partners. On a fault claim, your policy excess usually applies, and if you pay privately there's no excess, only the price we quote.
How long does an accident repair take?
Minor bodywork is usually finished within 24 hours. Accident damage across several panels or parts takes longer, and we'll give you a timing with your quote.
Can you repair the wheels too?
Yes. Our wheel team works in the same building, so kerbed, buckled or cracked wheels from the same knock are fixed while the car is in for its bodywork. See all FAQs
