How a colour change works
Painting over your existing finish leaves the old finish's flaws underneath, so the new colour can crack or peel along with it. We start from bare metal.
Strip
The old paint and lacquer come off completely.
Repair
Kerb damage and corrosion are repaired, so the new colour goes on a sound surface.
Finish
Most colour changes are powder coated and oven-cured at 180°C. See powder coating.
