Reading your 16 inch wheel size

Your wheel size is the number after the letter R on the tyre sidewall. A tyre marked 205/55 R16 sits on a 16 inch wheel, so one glance at the rubber tells you this is the right page. Include a close shot of that sidewall print with your photos, along with a picture of each damaged wheel. Together they let us read the size and the damage in one go.

Your 16 inch wheels stay with us at Crown Road for the whole job, and every stage happens in-house. First each wheel is stripped to bare metal, which brings corrosion and old paint to the surface so nothing is trapped beneath the new finish. Kerb damage, bends and cracks are then repaired by welding and straightening where needed. The refinish goes on next, powder coated and cured in our oven at 180°C, and each wheel is quality checked at the end. Diamond cut wheels have one extra stage, because the bright face is re-cut on our CNC lathe, which takes the job to 2 working days.

16 inch refurbishment questions

Do I need to measure my wheels myself?

No. The size is printed on the tyre sidewall, so there is nothing to measure. A clear photo of that print next to the damage is enough for us to quote.

Can you refurbish 16 inch diamond cut wheels?

Diamond cut faces are re-cut on our CNC lathe in-house, and the job takes 2 working days. Send a photo of the wheel and its sidewall and we'll confirm it for your wheels when we quote.

Can my 16 inch wheels change colour during the refurbishment?

Yes. They are stripped to bare metal anyway, so any colour from a paint code or photo can go on once the damage is repaired. Our alloy wheel colour change page shows how that works.
