Bumper scuff & scrape repair
Car park posts, low walls and kerbs all find the corners of a bumper sooner or later. Our bumper scuff repair takes the plastic back to smooth, matches it to your paint code and seals it, with most minor jobs done within 24 hours. Send a photo and we'll reply with a price within 24 hours.
Bumper damage we repair
Most bumper damage falls into one of four types, and each needs a slightly different amount of work.

Scuffs and scrapes
Paint rubbed off a corner or the lower edge, often with a rough, furry surface where the plastic has been dragged along something.
Scratches
Lines through the paint from keys, trolleys or another car's bumper, sometimes down to the grey plastic underneath.
Gouges
Deeper marks where a kerb or bollard has taken plastic away. These are filled and sanded level before any paint goes on.
Cracks and splits
Split bumpers are repaired or replaced, depending on the damage. Your photo tells us which, and we say so in the quote. See split bumper repair.
How we repair a bumper
Corners and low edges often need the bumper taking off for a clean finish. Your photo shows us whether yours does, and it's built into the quote before you book.
Clean and assess.
The bumper is washed and checked under good light so we see the full extent of the scuff, including any marks the dirt was hiding.
Reshape.
Rough edges are smoothed. Where the plastic has been scored or gouged, we fill and sand it back to the original line of the bumper.
Prime and paint.
The area is primed, then painted in your car's colour code and blended into the paint around it so there's no visible edge.
Lacquer.
A clear coat seals the repair and matches the shine of the rest of the bumper.
Why drivers bring their bumpers to Whoops
Wheels and bodywork on one quote. The kerb that scraped your bumper often catches the wheel too. Send photos of both and we'll price them together, with the wheel work done in-house at the same Crown Road workshop.

Matched from your paint code
Colour is mixed from the code on your car, then blended into the bumper, so metallic and pearl paints sit evenly with the panels beside them.

Yes, in most cases. We smooth the scrape, fill any gouges, repaint the area from your paint code and lacquer it. Replacement is only needed for some cracks and broken mountings.

Do you need to take the bumper off?
Sometimes. Damage on the corners and lower edges is repaired most cleanly with the bumper off. Your quote tells you whether yours needs it.
How long will it take?
Minor bumper repairs are done within 24 hours at the workshop. A crack, a replacement bumper or damage across more than one panel takes longer, and the quote gives you the timing.
Will the repair show?
The paint is mixed from your colour code and blended into the bumper, then lacquered to match the shine. If faded paint makes a close match hard, we tell you before we start. See also what affects scratch and bumper repair costs. See all FAQs
