Signs your steel wheels need refurbishing

Repair or replace?

Steel wheels cost less to buy new than most alloys, so we only recommend refurbishing when it makes sense. If the wheel is straight and the rust sits on the surface, refurbishing usually works out well, especially for a full set or a wheel that's hard to find new. If the rust has eaten into the metal or the wheel is badly bent, a new wheel may be the better buy. We'll tell you which from your photo, before you book anything.

Tyres come off and each wheel is stripped back to bare metal.

Damage is made good and the wheel is refinished in-house at Crown Road.

Most of our standard refurbishments take 36 to 48 hours. We'll confirm the timing for your steel wheels when we quote.
