Questions once the damage is done

How soon should a scraped wheel be looked at?

As soon as you can, because broken lacquer lets water and road salt get at the metal. Corrosion then creeps under the finish, so a small repair now is a lighter job than the one you'd face later.

Can a photo show enough to price the repair?

For most damage it can, provided the pictures are clear and well lit. If a bend or crack needs a closer look before we can be sure, our reply will tell you.

Is pothole damage always visible on the wheel?

Not always. Vibration, the car pulling to one side or a tyre that keeps losing pressure can all point to a bend, so have it checked. Photos taken at the time also help with any claim.
