What a diamond cut face is

A diamond cut wheel has its face machined on a lathe, leaving bright bare metal that only a coat of clear lacquer protects. Once that lacquer chips or lifts, water and road salt work their way underneath and the face starts to turn cloudy. If your Tesla's wheels have that bright machined face, it goes on our CNC lathe, a fresh cut is taken across the face and new lacquer seals it. The job takes 2 working days, and a daylight photo shows us whether a re-cut is needed.
