Why we strip to bare metal first

Paint sprayed over an old finish only lasts as long as the layer beneath it. Where that layer is chipped, lifting or sitting on corrosion, the new black peels away in the same places, and the damage returns. Tyre removal, balancing and storage at the workshop carry no extra charge. Taking every wheel back to clean metal gives the black something solid to bond to. It also exposes kerb rash and hidden corrosion, so the repair is done properly before any colour goes on.
