Why gloss black is powder coated and oven cured

Gloss black alloy wheel paint only looks deep when the surface beneath it is perfectly smooth. Old lacquer, flaking paint or corrosion left on the wheel would show through a high shine as ripples, or lift away later, so every wheel is stripped to bare metal at Crown Road first. The black powder is sprayed onto clean, repaired metal and the wheel goes into our oven at 180°C. The heat melts the powder into one even layer that flows out flat as it cures, which is where the mirror depth comes from. Diamond cut wheels need a look at your photo first, and the quote says what can be done with the machined face.
