When a wheel is worth refinishing

Most wheels with a flaking, peeling or corroded finish can be saved. Powder coating starts by stripping the wheel to bare metal, so the old finish does not matter. Scuffs, pits and rim damage are repaired after the strip and before the powder goes on. A few wheels are the exception. Cracks in certain places or a severe buckle can make a wheel unsafe to repair, and your photo is how we tell. If that is the case, we say so before you book anything. When the wheels are worth saving, refinishing all four keeps the original set matched, and a colour change can be included in the same quote.

The oven

The powder is cured at 180°C in our on-site oven, so powder coating is always workshop work and is never done at your home or workplace.

Paying

Payment is due on completion, by cash, card or bank transfer, so you see the finished wheels before any money changes hands.

Booking questions from Hoddesdon

What days can I bring the car in?

We are open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm and on Saturday from 8am to 1pm, and closed on Sunday. You agree the drop-off time when you accept the quote.

Do I have to go without my wheels while they're coated?

Not necessarily. Many makes qualify for free loan wheels, subject to stock, so the car can stay in use while the originals are in the oven. Ring 0207 060 3666 and we'll check what is available for yours.

Can I choose a different colour?

Yes. Wheels can go back in their original colour or in any colour from a paint code or a photo. Say what you want in your photo message and it goes into the quote, so the price already covers the colour when it arrives.
