What the 180°C cure does

Before any powder goes on, the wheel is stripped to bare metal, and pits or kerb scuffs are repaired. The dry powder is then applied and the wheel goes into our on-site oven at 180°C, where the heat bonds the coating to the bare alloy. A colour change works the same way, since the same process applies whether the wheel goes back in its original shade or a new one from a paint code or photo.

What days can I bring the car in?

We're open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm and Saturday from 8am to 1pm, and closed on Sunday. The exact drop-off time is fixed when you accept the quote.

Can I keep using the car while the wheels are being coated?

You can if we have a loan set in stock for your make. Ring 0207 060 3666 before you book and we'll check what's available for your car.

Can powder coating be done at my house?

No, it's a workshop job, because the powder has to be cured in our oven at 180°C. The wheels stay at Crown Road from stripping through to the final cure.
