What a repair changes

What a repair changes

Your original wheels are kept and brought back to one even finish. Stripping each one to bare metal gives the new coat clean metal to grip, and the sealed surface keeps corrosion at bay. A mobile visit can suit minor scuffs, although it may not match the durability of an oven-finished workshop repair. Send your postcode and we'll confirm whether it's possible for you.

Straightening and welding

Bent rims are straightened and cracks welded in the workshop where the wheel is safe to repair. See straightening and welding.

Colour change

Any colour from a paint code or photo can go on while the wheel is being refinished. See colour change.

Questions about value

Is a mobile repair as durable as a workshop refurbishment?
Mobile work covers minor scuffs and kerb marks, and its finish may not last as long as one cured in the workshop. Corrosion, cracks and diamond cut faces all need to come to Crown Road.
Can you change the colour while the wheel is being repaired?
Yes, in any colour taken from a paint code or a photo. The wheel is powder coated and cured at 180°C or painted, and the new colour is quoted from the same photos as the repair.
Can a refurbishment deal with corrosion as well as scuffs?
Yes. The corroded finish comes off when the wheel is taken back to bare metal, so the corrosion is removed before anything new goes on.
