No. Stripping, welding, straightening, the lathe, the oven and painting all take place at Crown Road, so one workshop handles the job from photo to finished wheel.
What can the workshop do that a mobile repair can't?
Diamond cut re-cutting, corrosion, cracks and buckles need the workshop. Mobile repair suits minor scuffs and kerb damage for retail and trade customers, though it may not last as long as an oven-cured finish. Send your postcode and we'll confirm.
Why are Volkswagen wheels stripped to bare metal first?
A new finish bonds to clean metal, and paint laid over an old finish can peel. Every wheel is stripped before it is refinished.
