Alloy wheel corrosion repair
White powder, bubbling paint or flaking lacquer all mean corrosion has started under the finish. We strip the wheel to bare metal at our Enfield workshop, clean out the damage and refinish it in 36 to 48 hours.
Signs your alloys are corroding
Why corrosion keeps spreading
Remove the tyre and strip the wheel
The tyre comes off and the old finish is stripped to bare metal, so we can see how far the corrosion has gone.
Clean out the damage
Corroded areas are cleaned back to sound metal and the surface is made good. If the corrosion has eaten into the structure, we tell you before going further.
Refinish
The wheel is coated and cured, or re-cut on our CNC lathe if it has a diamond cut face. See powder coating.
Refit and balance
The tyre goes back on and the wheel is balanced. Tyre removal, balancing and storage at the workshop cost nothing extra.
Finishes for a refurbished wheel
A corrosion repair is a good time to choose the finish you want for the next few years.
Powder coating
Cured at 180°C in gloss, satin, matte or metallic. Ready in 36 to 48 hours.
Diamond cut
The face is re-cut on our own lathe and lacquered to seal it. Allow 2 working days. See diamond cut repair.
Your original colour or a new one
We match 99% of factory colours and can mix a custom shade from a paint code or photo.
Alloy wheel corrosion repair questions
Most can. Surface corrosion and bubbling come out when the wheel is stripped. If the metal is badly pitted or the structure is weakened, we'll say so from your photo or once the wheel is stripped.

Can corroded alloys be saved?
Most can. Surface corrosion and bubbling come out when the wheel is stripped. If the metal is badly pitted or the structure is weakened, we'll say so from your photo or once the wheel is stripped.
Why do alloys corrode?
Once the lacquer breaks, salt and water reach the aluminium and corrosion starts underneath. Winter road salt and brake dust left on the wheel both speed it up.
Can you fix corrosion on a diamond cut wheel?
Yes. We re-cut the face on our CNC lathe to remove the damaged layer, then lacquer it, and the wheel is ready in 2 working days.
How long does it take?
Standard refurbishment and powder coating take 36 to 48 hours. Diamond cut takes 2 working days.
Is it covered by a guarantee?
