Alloy wheel straightening & welding
Bent rims and cracked alloys are structural damage, and they need fixing before any cosmetic work. We straighten and weld wheels in-house at our Enfield workshop, then refinish them to match. Send a photo and we'll tell you what's possible within 24 hours.
Which repair does your wheel need?
A bent or buckled rim. A pothole or kerb has knocked the wheel out of round. It shows up as a steering wobble or a vibration at speed. See buckled wheel repair.

A cracked rim or spoke
The metal has split, often with a slow air leak as the first sign. We clean the crack out, weld it and build the profile back up. See cracked alloy wheel repair.
Both at once
A hard impact often bends and cracks the same wheel. The crack is welded first and the rim straightened afterwards, because straightening an unwelded crack can make it longer.
How the repair works
Inspect.
We take the tyre off, strip the wheel and measure how far it has moved. Stripping also shows any cracks the paint was hiding.
Weld, then straighten.
Cracks are welded and the rim is worked back to true, with measurements checked throughout.
Refinish.
Welding and straightening mark the finish, so we refinish the wheel in its original colour and lacquer it.
Refit, balance and check.
The tyre goes back on, the wheel is balanced at no extra charge, and it's checked again before it goes back on your car.

Straightening and welding questions
Look for a steering wheel that shakes at certain speeds, a tyre that wears unevenly, or air that keeps escaping with no puncture. A wheel balancer or a garage can confirm it.

How can I tell if my wheel is bent?

Is a straightened wheel as strong as a new one?
When the damage is within repairable limits, a straightened or welded wheel is safe to use. If yours is beyond those limits, we'll tell you from the photo or the inspection.
How long does it take?
The refinish takes 36 to 48 hours, the same as a standard refurbishment. Welding or straightening comes first and adds time depending on the damage, and we'll give you the full timing with your quote.
Can you straighten my wheel at home?
No. Straightening and welding are workshop-only. Our mobile team covers minor scuffs, kerb damage and paint chips. See all FAQs
