What each repair involves

We don't publish a price list, because two wheels with the same repair can need very different amounts of work. Here is what each job covers and how long it takes at our Crown Road workshop.

Standard refurbishment

Scuffs, surface corrosion and peeling finishes. The wheel is stripped to bare metal, repaired and refinished, usually in 36 to 48 hours.

Kerb rash repair

Scuffs and shallow gouges on the rim edge, filled, shaped and colour-matched to the rest of the wheel.

Diamond cut repair

Lifting lacquer and face corrosion. The face is re-cut on our CNC lathe and lacquered, in 2 working days.

Straightening and welding

Buckles from potholes and cracks in the rim, repaired in-house and refinished to match.

Powder coating

A colour change or factory colour restoration in gloss, satin, matte or metallic, cured at 180°C, in 36 to 48 hours.

Brake calliper painting

Callipers cleaned, masked and painted in heat-resistant paint with the wheel off, in 24 hours. See our calliper painting cost guide.

What affects the price

What affects the price

Tyre removal, balancing and storage at the workshop are included, so there is nothing extra to add on for those.
  • How deep the damage goes. Light scuffs take less filling and shaping than deep gouges or heavy corrosion.
  • Wheel size, since a larger wheel takes longer to strip and refinish.
  • The finish. A diamond cut face goes on the lathe, while a custom shade means mixing a new colour.
  • Whether the wheel needs straightening or welding before it can be refinished.
  • How many wheels you bring in. Trade and fleet customers get bulk rates.

Pricing questions

Why do alloy repair prices vary so much between companies?
Very low per-wheel prices often cover a cosmetic touch-up without a full strip and refinish. Our workshop refurbishments strip the wheel to bare metal first, which is why the finish lasts.
Is the quote free?
Yes. Photo quotes are free and there's no obligation to book.
Can you repair kerb damage at my home instead?
Often, yes. Our mobile team repairs scuffs, kerb damage and paint chips at your home or work in about 2 to 4 hours. Diamond cut, welding and straightening need the workshop. Send your postcode and we'll confirm cover.
When do I pay?
On completion, once you're happy with your wheels. We take cash, card and bank transfer.
Is it worth repairing wheels before returning a lease car?
Usually. Damaged wheels are among the first things a lease inspector picks up, and send a photo for a quote you can compare with the charge. A standard refurbishment takes 36 to 48 hours. See all FAQs
